Building Self-Confidence
Do you ever feel like you don’t have any confidence in yourself or in the things you do on a day to day basis? Do you ever feel like you aren’t good enough? Unfortunately, a lot of people struggle with self-confidence. We beat ourselves up if we forget to do something or if we make even the slightest mistake. This Learning Lesson will help you brainstorm with participants to help build self-confidence.

Our free Luma Learning Lessons include objectives, estimated time, materials and instructional procedures for classroom and online/blended teaching. We will provide strategies on how to use our new LumaLive technology to collaborate virtually in real-time. We include these pillars from our learning research to illustrate where they are infused in our lessons.

- Meet up in webinar technology, like LumaLive.
Share your screen and have the Self Confidence Slides, slide 2 showing.
Ask the class, what is self confidence? Have them brainstorm ideas and you can write their ideas.
Have each individual come up with a personal definition of self confidence.
After giving the time to come up with their definitions, show slide 3. Discuss how their definitions were similar or different than the definition you showed.
Ask them, “Why does self-confidence even matter?”
- Tell them that even if they feel self-confident, there may be a sibling, friend, child, co-worker, etc that may struggle with self-confidence. Challenge them to build a tip sheet for them. Send the Building Self-Confidence Worksheet out through email and have them brainstorms tips individually or fill it in together. Feel free to use the Building Self-Confidence Ideas Sheet for ideas if participants struggle.
(or not at the same time)
Send out the Changes to the Building Self-Confidence eNugget®.
- In the discussion board post the following:
Do you struggle or know someone who struggles with self-confidence?
Why do you think people struggle with it?
Even if you feel self-confident, there may be a sibling, friend, child, co-worker, etc that may struggle with self-confidence. Build a tip sheet and share it in the discussion board. Feel free to use this template for your ideas: Building Self-Confidence Worksheet.
