Winning in Learning Tip #21: Engage With Others

In education, a winning mindset is rooted in understanding the brain’s role in learning, well-being, and performance. Neuroscience shows that engaging the mind can authentically drive deeper connections, motivation, and success. The key to happiness is in the drive, not the achievement. Our goal is to provide weekly tips and strategies for building a winning mindset and a generative drive to help you build a connected culture and a more engaged workforce. I Love Learning Podcast, S2 EP21: Ed Burns, CEO Burns Logistics

When asked how he defines winning, Ed said:

“I think winning isn’t always about the game itself that you’re playing in the moment. It’s more, are you going to keep playing? I think Jordan Peterson said, when you’re raising small children, you don’t want to raise a kid who wins chess every time they play chess and makes it so the other kids don’t want to play with them. The win is not winning the game of chess in the moment. It’s making the other kids want to continue to play with them and have the personality type that people want to engage with you. And I I think that’s what winning is.”
