Innovation rarely begins with perfect conditions. More often, it begins with curiosity, learning, and the courage to take the first step. In this episode, Alex Mai, creator of Mutha Trucker News, reminds us that having the courage to create can also mean having the courage to be seen. Alex started with something most of us already have, a cell phone. He began sharing his experiences as a truck driver and talking honestly about life on the road. Over time, those conversations grew into a trusted platform and community within the trucking industry.

But putting yourself and your ideas out there isn’t easy. Alex talks openly about the fear of failing in public and the rejection that comes with trying something new. When other people can see what we’re creating, they can also see when it doesn’t work. That fear alone can stop a great idea before it ever has a chance to grow. Alex chose to keep going.

His story is a reminder that we don’t need the perfect business plan, thousands of followers, or complete confidence before we begin. We need to be willing to start, learn from what doesn’t work, listen to the people we’re trying to serve, and keep showing up. Sometimes the idea that fails teaches us how to find the one that works. Sometimes sharing our own experience gives someone else the courage to share theirs.

The courage to create isn’t about knowing you’ll succeed. It’s being willing to try, learn, and keep going, even when other people can see you fail.
