The Power of Small: How Little Things Make a Big Difference

Think about the last time something small made a big difference: a word of encouragement, a small idea, a two-minute lesson that stuck. This season on I Love Learning, we’re diving into The Power of Small. Host Dr. Gina Anderson will unpack stories of how learning doesn’t have to be big to be powerful because sometimes, it’s the smallest spark that ignites the biggest change.

I Love Learning Podcast, S2 EP15: Chloé Beltran

Have you ever realized that the skills you’ve developed in one career could open doors in a completely different field?

Not because you planned it that way.
Not because you followed a perfect roadmap.

But because of the small things you’ve learned along the way, listening, adapting, and understanding people travel with you.

In this episode of I Love Learning, Chloé (Cam) Beltran, Customer Success Manager at Dashdoc , shares how her life between cultures and careers shaped the path she is on today.

Born outside Paris and raised in Philadelphia, Cam grew up navigating two worlds. That experience of living between cultures would later shape both her career and her perspective on communication, empathy, and connection.

She began her professional journey in the United States as a mental health therapist in Chicago, working with individuals and groups while using counseling and art therapy to help people navigate difficult emotional experiences.

Her work required deep listening.

Patience.

And the ability to meet people where they are.

Today, those same skills show up in a very different setting.

After moving back to France, Cam joined Dashdoc, a transportation management system company, where she helps adapt European logistics technology for the U.S. market while also supporting French customers as they deploy the platform.

At first glance, therapy and transportation technology may seem worlds apart.

But Cam reminds us that the most powerful skills are often the human ones.

Listening.

Understanding different perspectives.

And building bridges between people.

Her story is a powerful reminder that careers are rarely linear.

Sometimes the small lessons we learn in one chapter quietly prepare us for the next.

A listening skill learned in therapy becomes a strength in customer success.

A life lived between cultures becomes an advantage in global business.

The Power of Small shows us that growth often comes from the subtle connections we make along the way. This week’s tip is

One skill learned in one place.

One conversation that builds understanding.

One decision to explore a new opportunity.

Those small moments can lead to careers we never expected.

Small does not mean insignificant.

Sometimes, small is what builds the bridge to something new.
